i suppose this month has really made me realise what that slogan means. this month has been so slow for me, in loads of ways. new years eve was amazing, my band played our best mates house party and it was mad, people, beer and whiskey flying everywhere, mosh pit in the room, amps and drum kit being knocked over people falling into everything it was so fun. after we played i decided to drink a whole bottle of southern comfort, which left me in a bad state in the morning. so bad that i have sort of gone off drinking alot, so this year i'm going to cut down. so i guess that brings me to new years resolutions? well i made alot of them for this year, starting with the most important, get a job, sort myself out for next year, lose some weight, cut my hair, cut down on drinking, go visit my uncle and family in america, get all the tours for my band sorted, grow a (proper) beard and have more fun than i did in 2008.
so as january began, the snow fell, the temperature dropped fucking low, and by sods law, our heating broke, no hot water, or central heating.
great
i went skating with tarq up london. we got chased by a security guard who almost caught us, he grabbed my bag as we running but i got free, as we got out of the carpark, me and tarq collapsed with laughter. this laughter ended when i discovered that the drink in my bag had exploded, turning my camera into a fishbowl.
it was completely fucked, water poured out of it as i lifted it from the bag. so unbelievably pissed i went to the nearest camera store, who said i should leave it for a week to dry out, and there might be a slim chance of it working again, as long as i didnt try to turn it on, which i automaticaly did as soon as i saw what had happened.
that was one hell of a long, depressing week. but i still left it there to dry as i was told, fools hope i guess.
but then, probably the most luckiest thing thats ever happened to me, it worked. a week on, my camera turned on. it's working slower than usual of course, but it works!
i really need a job, i'm so broke at the moment it's not even funny, with the loaded dog show coming that me and jubs are putting on i really do need a source of income. hopefully something will come around soon. on the 14th of january, me and pete went to the last astoria (2) show where good friends of our band played, it was wicked for them, a full set at a packed out astoria 2, i took photos for them and open the skies, pretty pleased with some of the photos aswell.

the following week, my band got added last minute to a show in ipswich with This is Colour (radd dudes) and two touring hardcore bands from overseas called Bishop and Kingdom. This was a very different show for my band, and i thought it would be good to play it to broaden into different fanbases, we played pretty perfectly, but the atmosphere was so dead, we had some movement going on for a short while but that was that, which put a downer on the rest of my band. which sucked, but the thing is, it wasn't a bad show like my band were saying, as it was pretty much the same for every band of the night, the crowd were just not really feeling it for anyone i guess, (which is stupid if they've came to a hardcore show lol) but oh well, i stayed posi. the promoter was well safe to us, and said as our music is so "diverse" he's going to put us on some more shows in the future. sweet. some minor disagreements about kingdoms little vegan speech later on that night but fuck it, oh yeah and we also nearly got lost in some freaky fucking ghost town thing when we had to turn off the motorway as it had been shut down. haha.
last weekend we finally re-visited saffron walden skatepark. its still such a good park, its just poorly thought out, like, the idea of all the obstacles and stuff are so sick, but they are so close together. but i managed to get some ok shots of bell and hulk on my first shoot back with my formerly broken camera so i was happy.
